History

For many years community promotion activities in Cooma and the Cooma-Monaro Shire had been fragmented and not co-ordinated in any way.

In 1993 a group of citizens began the Main Street concept being pushed by the State Government at the time, and it was strongly supported by the Shire Council.

A major result of this activity was the Radcliffe Report giving direction on heritage, and making suggestions regarding beautifying the town. A paid co-ordinator Ms Joy Walker began to move towards achieving five major objectives.

Twelve months later the Cooma Chamber of Commerce was all but defunct and a public meeting was held to form a body which would represent a number of different organizations within Cooma hence the birth of Cooma Unlimited Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

A few years later the Cooma Chamber of Commerce was reformed and Cooma Unlimited Chamber of Commerce and Industry became simply Cooma Unlimited.
